This salsa recipe is great. It creates a versatile, fresh and healthy dish which works well as a side at breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I used to always buy ready-made salsa before I realised how simple it is to make. It also lasts for a few days in the fridge, meaning it’s worth making extra and saving leftovers.
This recipe makes enough to fill a regular Tupperware. Depending on portion sizes, this should easily be enough for four or more.
Salsa recipe
Ingredients
6 tomatoes, finely chopped
1 (red or white) onion, finely chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, crushed or 1 tbsp frozen chopped garlic
1 large handful coriander, finely chopped
1 lime, juiced
Salt and pepper
Instructions
Add each ingredient to a Tupperware. Close the lid and give it a good shake. Alternatively, just add each of the ingredients to a bowl and mix together using your (clean) hands.
Either way, that’s it! This can be served immediately or, even better, refrigerate for at least an hour before eating.
Notes
Salsa is perfect for experimentation; it can easily be made spicier with fresh chillies, for example. I’d love to hear suggestions!
